Rural America Solutions Group

The Rural America Solutions Group is focused on solutions that create jobs and economic opportunities as well as address the unique challenges rural communities face. The group is working to:

Pass the American Energy Act (H.R. 2846) to deliver new jobs and energy to rural America
Ensure the Democrats’ National Energy Tax bill never becomes law
Stop Speaker Pelosi’s government-run health care plan
Encourage President Obama to fulfill his promise to hold a rural summit

In April 2009, House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) announced that Natural Resources Committee Ranking Member Doc Hastings (R-WA), Agriculture Committee Ranking Member Frank Lucas (OK-3) and Small Business Committee Ranking Member Sam Graves (MO-6) would lead a group of Republicans tasked with developing solutions to address the issues facing Rural America.
